Who it suits
- 12.7 mm core. A thinner core is livelier, the traditional pick for pop (Onix, Paddletek), though Pickleball Effect's 2026 analysis finds modern 16 mm paddles have lost little of it (Pickleball Effect).
- Midweight, 7.8–8.4 oz. Between Paddletek's lightweight (7.3 oz and under) and heavy (8.5 oz and over) classes: the range suggested for beginners and for sore arms (Paddletek).
- Elongated. Trades forgiveness for reach, and scores lowest of the three shapes on comfort measures (Pickleball Effect).
- 5 in handle. Short for a two-handed backhand (PickleballUS); a shorter handle leaves more of the paddle for the face (PickleballUS, Pickleball Effect).
Not published by Paddletek: grip size, swingweight, twistweight. The finder never hides a paddle for a missing spec; it ranks it lower.
